User Guide

A Korean routine is not about using more products. It is about using them in the right order, so each one can actually work. Start with four steps and add more only when your skin is settled.

The order that matters

Apply from thinnest texture to thickest. Water before oil. Treatment before moisture.

Morning

  1. Cleanser. A gentle water-based cleanser. Skip it and rinse with water if your skin is dry.
  2. Toner. Rebalances the skin and helps everything after it absorb.
  3. Serum or essence. Your active step. Vitamin C for brightness, niacinamide for tone, hyaluronic acid for hydration.
  4. Moisturiser. Light gel for oily skin, cream for dry skin.
  5. Sunscreen. Every morning, all year. This is the step that decides how your skin looks in ten years.

Evening

  1. Oil or balm cleanser. Dissolves sunscreen and makeup. Apply to dry skin, then add water to emulsify.
  2. Water-based cleanser. The second half of the double cleanse.
  3. Exfoliant. Two or three nights a week, not daily.
  4. Toner.
  5. Treatment. Retinal, PDRN, peptides or whatever targets your concern.
  6. Moisturiser, and a sleeping mask when your skin needs extra.

Five things worth knowing

  • Introduce one new product at a time and give it two weeks. If everything goes on at once, you cannot tell what caused a reaction.
  • Patch test on your inner arm or behind the ear for three days before putting anything new on your face.
  • Do not use retinal and a strong acid exfoliant on the same night.
  • Sunscreen needs reapplying every two to three hours if you are outdoors.
  • Results take six to twelve weeks. Skin renews on its own schedule, not yours.
